ACTION PLANNING WORKSHOP

Girls and the Global Goals

The "Girls and the Global Goals” Action Planning Workshop trains young leaders to understand the 17 Sustainable Development Goals - with a special focus on the important role of women and girls in meeting each goal - and to take action in their communities to build a more sustainable future.

GIRLS MENTORSHIP

Mentor Me

Through the Mentor Me program, successful women are paired up with our girls to provide mentorship, career guidance, menstrual hygiene management, sexual and reproductive health education, and to act as role models for our girls.

SANITARY PAD MAKING

Menstrual Hygiene Management

We know that periods are keeping girls out of school, so we are teaching girls how to make their own reusable sanitary pads, while discussing menstrual hygiene management and sexual and reproductive health.

You are a child of the universe
Your opinions matter, speak out
Your dreams are worth pursuing
So reach for the stars and beyond

Early marriages will only enslave you
And drown you in a lifetime of misery
Cripple your bright future and
Hold you bondage in the throngs of poverty

Teenage pregnancies will thwart your dreams
Replacing them with regret and heartache
Joys of motherhood will be tainted with
Grumbling tummies and parched lips

It might seem impossible right now
But know that it can be done
With long nights glued to your books
Determined to make it in the end

Despite the 4 uncomfortable days each month
Wishing absenteeism was alright
Trying to find a smooth stone for a chair
While unwillingly basking in the heat of day

Of waking up at the break of dawn
As all the household chores await
Then rushing along to cover those miles
In that worn out shoe and torn dress

Keep on, it will be worth it one day soon
So never doubt your capabilities
Dare to dream and strive to achieve
Because you can and surely will!
